Word of the Day Wednesday

Continuing our linguistic journey, we have our entry for today, January 9.

waft (WAFT), verb
To carry lightly, as if caught in a breeze.

Jason perked up when he walked in the door and the smell of Sookie’s pecan pie wafted over him.

Happy writing and happy Wednesday everyone!

Disclaimer: These words all come from the More Words to Make You Sound Smart 2013 Daily Calendar. In the spirit of not completely copying the calendar that I have-and to make these little weekly reads a little more interesting for us-the word and definition are from the calendar and the sentence that follows will be my own.
