Project Marriage: There are only twenty-two people in this class, and only two people who haven’t been given partners yet for Project Marriage. “No!” I snap, glaring at Luke with everything I have. He smiles sheepishly at me. I’m going to kill him. And then myself. And then dig myself up from my own grave and kill him again. “Last partners: Jace Lightwood and Clary Morgenstern.” AU/AH.
Project Carrot: There were four people—me, Morgenstern, Simon, and Isabelle. Simon and Isabelle are paired together. Clary must be thinking what I am, because she snarls a very loud, “No!” at Graymark. Graymark smiles sheepishly at her. Oh, boy. Here we go. “Last partners: Jace Lightwood and Clary Morgenstern.” AU/AH. Companion to Project Marriage.
My oh-so-humble thoughts
That’s right ducklings! (Oh, Jace would so kill me for that!) you get a two-fer for this spotlight. Considering these two stories are the same story but from different POV’s I figured I’d combine them. Surprisingly these also have no sexy times like I normally like. But again-written in a way that I don’t NEED them. These stories outline the last semester of Jace and Clary’s high school life along with the project they have to complete for psych. I think you can imagine what the project is the from the title… :) Anyhoo-she writes this so well and in such a real way. It spans like 5-6 months but it doesn’t drag, which is amazing. The time jumps are cohesive and you actually get the timeline of events without it having to be spelled out. Now I read Clary’s first and I enjoyed it SO much that I decided to go out on a limb and read Jace’s. And I have no idea how she does it, but she manages to capture their personalities (which are slightly OOC to me, but I don’t have a huge issue with that ever) in of,op,lie tee separate ways. There are some authors who will write one story from 2 POVs and they sound the same…cause duh, same author. But this awesome goddess manages to give them two completely separate voices. The way she deals with hard issues (some triggers are involved, though they weren’t too bad in my opinion) is ridiculously perfect. I don’t want to say too much and give away a few major plot points so you’ll just have to take my word for it. :)
Check her account on ff.net, cause she’s got other stuff that’s pretty frickin’ cool as well. Also check her out on tumblr. (I’m such a tumblr slut-if you post anything remotely interesting to me I’ll definitely be sure to follow you.) Leave her some love and bask in the awesomeness!
