My oh-so-humble thoughts
This is one of the longest overdue spotlights like…ever. I intended to do this waaaaaaaaay back in March 2013 when she did her author spotlight. And somehow it never got done.

This story is my all time favorite fanfic. Hands down. And I kinda feel bad saying that since there are so many great ones out there…but it is. Angela was a genius and I still miss her brilliant mind. :(

But back to happy and the story. This is crime drama meets thriller meets…quickie romance. All wrapped up in a brilliantly put together sarcastic package. It’s only 28 chapters so it’s not a HUGE time investment. I usually get through it in about 2-3 days reading sporadically. And yes I said usually. I read this story about every other month or so. Seriously. It’s saved on my phone and everything.

I don’t save many stories. And I usually don’t reread stories-maybe I’ll read a story twice, especially if I’m refreshing my memory for a spotlight or something. But nothing like I’ve read this one.

And every single time it gets me. The same emotions smack me upside the head and I end up feeling the exact same way I felt the first time I read it.

There is a companion piece (Alcide in Wonderland), which I actually haven’t read yet. But I think that’s going on my list now. It took me a long time to be able to read S&S after Angela’s passing and now every single time I am so grateful for her amazing mind. So I’m going to delve into Alcide’s story. There is also a sequel, but it’s unfinished.

It’s worth a read-anything Angela ever wrote is. So this would be when you scurry on over to her site and suck it up like the internet will die tomorrow. ….Okay that was a horrible way to put that but you know what I mean. :)

  1. S&S was the first of EIM’s stories I read and, like you I read it often :).
It took me a while to read Alcide’s take on things but I’m glad I did since it gives me some insight into what really happened between him and Amelia (gag. Never have liked her.)
It will be well worth the time investment once you do read it.

  2. Definitely one of my faves too. The snark is brilliant. The way the Stackhouse family treat each other is hilarious and wonderful.
I definitely encourage you to read Alcide in wonderland. Maybe even read them both in conjunction, chapter for chapter. You end up seeing a slightly different side of the crime. You definitely see a different side of Pam! And you also see all the family starting to work out what the deal is with Eric and Sookie. And as a bonus, you see more of his relationship with Jack and Carm. Not to mention his friendship with Eric, which is a lot more than you get from just S&S.
Love both of them. Can’t read one without the other now. And yes I have them both saved too. And read them every few months.
This Sookie is one of my faves!

  3. This is one of my favourites but I do prefer alcide in wonderland if offers a completely different view point of sookie and shows how close a friend she is with alcide. Whereas saints and sinners they. are kind of devious in their handling alcide in wonderland is more humorous. Definitely read it!!!! Lauren x
